NAEIU and VDMA Mining & Minerals have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

At a time when global supply chains for critical minerals are increasingly a matter of economic security, Ukraine’s extractive sector is seeking new footholds in Europe. Against this backdrop, the National Association of Extractive Industry of Ukraine (NAEIU) and VDMA Mining & Minerals have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation — a document that marks a new phase of institutional partnership.

“This partnership is not only about exchanging expertise, but about shaping a shared vision for the future of Ukraine’s extractive industry as part of the European economic space,” said Kseniia Orynchak, Executive Director of NAEIU.

The agreement provides for the exchange of expertise, joint projects, and regular dialogue between business, government, and international partners. Among the key priorities are regulatory harmonization, the creation of a communication platform for industry stakeholders, and strengthening the global presence of Ukrainian subsoil users.

„For the VDMA Mining & Minerals” partnering with the Ukrainian Mining Association is highly interesting, both from a market and a supply chain perspective.”

The partnership is built on the principles of equality and mutual benefit: each party independently provides resources for joint initiatives, while project outcomes may be published or remain confidential by mutual agreement.

The Memorandum is concluded for a five-year term with the possibility of extension — a signal of long-term intent and a shared vision for the sector’s development.
